<para><literal>TIFFClose</literal> closes a file that was previously opened

with <literal>TIFFOpen(3tiff)</literal>. Any buffered data is flushed to the file,

including the contents of the current directory (if modified), and all resources

are reclaimed.</para>

<para>All error messages are directed to the <literal>TIFFError(3tiff)</literal>

routine. Likewise, warning messages are directed to the <literal>TIFFWarning(3tiff)

</literal> routine.</para>
