10139N/A<para><command>&cmd;</command> is the GNOME Desktop file editor, which you
10139N/Acan use to create or edit the <filename>.desktop</filename> (known as desktop)
10139N/Afile. GNOME uses a standard desktop file specification as proposed by freedesktop.org.
10139N/AA desktop file consists of a number of name-value pairs that define how a
10139N/Adesktop should organize a particular application. As this is defined as an
10139N/Aopen standard, integration of applications into GNOME Desktop is relatively
10139N/Astraightforward.</para>
10139N/A<para>A basic entry in the desktop file must start with a tag called [Desktop
