10139N/A<para>
10139N/AEver since the upgrade Evolution from 1.4 to 2.x, this product includes source code for
10139N/Athe Berkeley Database a product of Oracle Corporation. Your use of the Berkeley Database
10139N/Asoftware separately from Evolution or authorized derivatives thereof is subject to
10139N/Aadditional licensing conditions.
10139N/A
10139N/APer-user configuration files and local storage in Evolution 2.x are stored in $HOME/.evolution
10139N/Adirectory as opposed to $HOME/evolution directory in Evolution 1.4. If the user had Evolution
10139N/A1.4 installed on the system before, they are able to upgrade to Evolution 2.8 without losing
10139N/Aconfiguration and local data. When run for the first time, Evolution 2.x will automatically check for and import all
10139N/Athe old configuration and local data owned by Evolution 1.4, and convert them to the format
10139N/Areadable by Evolution 2.x. Users are also allowed to choose between
10139N/Apreserving the $HOME/evolution directory or not. If users choose to preserve configuration
10139N/Aand local data for Evolution 1.4, they will have to manage Evolution 1.4 and Evolution 2.8
10139N/Aconfiguration and data separately, after the one-time migration. No automatic syncing is
10139N/Aavailable for ensuring that changes made to Evolution 2.x are ported to Evolution 1.4, or vice versa.
10139N/A
10139N/AThe addressbook database formats of Evolution 2.x and Evolution 1.4 are different due to the
10139N/Ause of different versions of Berkeley DB in the backend. User cannot simply copy the database
10139N/Afile from Evolution 1.4 to Evolution 2.8 in order to do the porting of addressbook.
