b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync generates a key pair of files that referencing a key object stored
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync in a cryptographic hardware service module (HSM). The private key
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync file can be used for DNSSEC signing of zone data as if it were a
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync conventional signing key created by dnssec-keygen,
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync but the key material is stored within the HSM, and the actual signing
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync takes place there.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync The
name
of the key is specified on the command
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync line. This must match the name of the zone for which the key is
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync being generated.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync
-a
algorithm

b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync Selects the cryptographic algorithm. The value of
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync
algorithm
must be one of RSAMD5, RSASHA1,
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync DSA, NSEC3RSASHA1, NSEC3DSA, RSASHA256, RSASHA512, ECCGOST,
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync ECDSAP256SHA256 or ECDSAP384SHA384.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync These values are case insensitive.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync If no algorithm is specified, then RSASHA1 will be used by
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync default, unless the
-3
option is specified,
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync in which case NSEC3RSASHA1 will be used instead. (If
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync
-3
is used and an algorithm is specified,
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync that algorithm will be checked for compatibility with NSEC3.)
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync Note 1: that for DNSSEC, RSASHA1 is a mandatory to implement
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync algorithm, and DSA is recommended.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync Note 2: DH automatically sets the -k flag.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync Use an NSEC3-capable algorithm to generate a DNSSEC key.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync If this option is used and no algorithm is explicitly
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync set on the command line, NSEC3RSASHA1 will be used by
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync
-E
engine

b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync Specifies the cryptographic hardware to use.
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync When BIND is built with OpenSSL PKCS#11 support, this defaults
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync to the string "pkcs11", which identifies an OpenSSL engine
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync that can drive a cryptographic accelerator or hardware service
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync module. When BIND is built with native PKCS#11 cryptography
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync (--enable-native-pkcs11), it defaults to the path of the PKCS#11
b8e299dddd091ae24e0c08c45d91b8f937bd14d2vboxsync provider library specified via "--with-pkcs11".
