eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere date related. A lot of people set them to a number that
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere represents a date, usually of the form YYYYMMDDRR.
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere Occasionally they will make a mistake and set them to a
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere "date in the future" then try to correct them by setting
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere them to the "current date". This causes problems because
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere serial numbers are used to indicate that a zone has been
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere updated. If the serial number on the slave server is
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere lower than the serial number on the master, the slave
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere server will attempt to update its copy of the zone.
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere Setting the serial number to a lower number on the master
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere server than the slave server means that the slave will not perform
eec3a6d65a733157dc4cf3026abda13dcb90d0cfjfclere updates to its copy of the zone.
